This page explains what personal data HelloMtaa uses, why, and who it is shared with.
What we collect
When you enquire about a home, we keep your name, contact details and the messages you send to the agency. When you search or save homes, we keep the preferences you set so we can show better results.
Who sees your messages
Your messages are visible to the agency or agent you contacted. They are not shared with other agencies.
AI assistance
Some features use an AI model provided through OpenRouter: the assistant you can chat with, the overview shown on listings, and understanding search text. What you type to the assistant is sent to that model so it can answer you, and providers may process requests outside Kenya — so avoid sharing sensitive personal details with it.
We remove phone numbers, email addresses, ID numbers and exact map coordinates from search text before it is sent. We cannot guarantee that every detail is caught.
Agency features that would read your conversations — AI reply drafts, conversation summaries and preference suggestions — are turned off across the platform. Your messages with agencies are not sent to any AI provider.
If we introduce those features in future, each agency will choose whether to turn them on, requests will only go to providers that do not store prompts or responses, and every request will be recorded in the agency's audit log.
Your choices
You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal data through the app. To raise a concern about how your data is used, contact the HelloMtaa team through the app's support page.
